Bob Snodgrass
Eugene, OR
Bob Snodgrass is the root of the entire American borosilicate glass art lineage. He invented silver and gold fuming in the late 1980s while touring with the Grateful Dead and taught the technique freely to anyone who asked. His family compound in Eugene, OR has trained multiple generations of glass artists. His direct apprentices include his daughter Ginny, son Jon, and family friend Jonny G (Jonathan Gietl). Banjo and BT Glass also credit Snodgrass as a foundational influence.
