Swank

Ryan Beck, known as Swank, began his journey in glassblowing in 2015, drawn to the art form after being mesmerized by molten glass as a child. He specializes in the "fume" technique, where he vaporizes gold and silver onto glass tubing, then encases and manipulates it to create unique pieces. Beck is particularly known for crafting pipes, which he views as both utilitarian art and meditation tools, often incorporating a gem-like quality through faceting and fume colors. His work is inspired by his love for collecting gems and minerals, and he continuously experiments with chemistry to control the colors of his fume.
