Snic
Snic Barnes is a glass artist and mixed media pipe maker whose work is influenced by technology, the Industrial Revolution, and urban decay. His extensive study of survival techniques and tracking in the wilderness also created a palpable struggle between nature and his hometown, Philadelphia, strongly influencing his art. Snic discovered glassblowing in 1997 and further developed his skills at The Appalachian Center for Crafts, where he was inspired by electroplated metal, leading to his signature electroforming technique. He has worked and taught in various studios, including in Japan, and has been featured in several publications and exhibitions. Snic currently lives and works in Austin, Texas.
