Marcel

Marcel Braun, a West Coast glassblowing legend, and his team "The Starship" are known for blurring the line between furnace-worked and flame-worked borosilicate glass. He specializes in creating "Art Units" (glass coins) as a trading currency in the functional glass world, part of his artistic and social experiment called Project 33. His goal is to return benefits to the pipe community and challenge corporate greed by emphasizing quality craftsmanship. He also designed a mobile glassblowing unit called "S.E.C.X.C." (Sacred Economic Currency X-Change) to travel and broadcast Project 33's message.
