Drue Downs
Drue Downs is a Washington, D.C.-based borosilicate glass artist who has been part of the city's vibrant arts and cannabis culture since 2017. Known for his heady functional pieces — bongs, bubblers, and sherlocks — Drue's work is characterized by rich fume work, intricate color patterning, and a distinctly East Coast aesthetic. His pieces have been sold through shops across the D.C. metro area and at regional glass events. Featured in the Washington City Paper, Drue is recognized as a cornerstone of D.C.'s independent glass art scene. He has collaborated with artists including Wil Glass, producing standout sidecar pieces that showcase his mastery of worked borosilicate. Despite the challenges facing D.C.'s independent arts market, Drue continues to push his craft forward — building a legacy as one of the most authentic voices in the East Coast heady glass community.
