Chaka
Chaka, whose real name is Cristian Gazmuri, grew up in the suburbs of Boston and earned a degree in psychology from UMass Amherst. He discovered glasswork in 2004 and honed his skills by taking classes from masters such as Milon Townsend, Robert Mickelsen, John Kobuki, Loren Stump, and Kiva Ford. Initially, he sold jewelry, aquatic sculptures, and vessels, but his interest shifted to pipes in 2012, leading him into the underground pipe scene. Chaka is renowned for his distinctive snow and ice-themed glass art, including icicles and glacial shapes, and has been working with glass for over 16 years as of December 2021.
